Yacht Rental Dubrovnik

Private yacht rental from Gruž Harbour in Dubrovnik — sunset cruises, island days across the Elaphiti and custom voyages along the Adriatic, with a licensed skipper and insurance included in every charter.

About us

We craft private yacht charters from Dubrovnik — a licensed skipper at the helm, insurance and safety equipment included, on eight yachts we own and maintain ourselves.

Years on this coast taught us a simple rule: the boat should be ready, the skipper should know the water, and the day should be yours. We run eight yachts for up to 12 guests — catamaran, flybridge cruisers, sport yachts and the 55-foot flagship — and the price you see is the price you pay.

Private yacht charters from Gruž, priced per boat

A private charter in Dubrovnik is a skippered yacht hired by the boat, not by the seat. Half-day (4-hour) charters run from €730 on the 12-guest Catamaran X to €1,900 on the Bond 007, across an eight-yacht fleet. Every price includes a licensed skipper, insurance and safety equipment; departures leave Gruž Harbour.

A private charter means a skippered yacht hired by the boat, not by the seat — the whole vessel is yours, with no queues, no fixed groups and no strangers on deck. Every departure leaves Marina Frapa, Lapadska obala 21a on Gruž bay, around 10 minutes by taxi from the old town, where your skipper meets you on the quay and the day runs on your clock.

The fleet is eight skippered yachts, from the sociable 12-guest Catamaran X through the 11-metre Galeon 330 Fly and the 30-knot VanDutch 32 to the Bond 007 and the Malavi 55 flagship. Every departure, half day or full, comes with a licensed skipper holding a Croatian Maritime Licence who has spent years reading this coastline, full passenger and third-party liability insurance, full safety equipment with a pre-departure briefing, and a Bluetooth sound system. Not included: fuel, which is charged separately based on usage; national-park and reserve entry fees (Lokrum, and Mljet National Park on longer routes); restaurant meals ashore; and premium drinks. There is no platform markup — the price you book is the price you pay.

Half day or full day?

Four hours is enough for the old town panorama from the water, a swim at Lokrum or Betina Cave and one quiet cove — a good fit if you have dinner plans or young children aboard. Eight hours opens up the Elaphiti chain: Koločep's blue cave, sandy Šunj beach on Lopud and a konoba lunch in Šipanska Luka. If you are torn between the two, most groups who take the full day say the unhurried lunch stop is what made it. Morning half days leave at 09:00 and afternoon slots at 14:00; full days leave at 09:00 and return around 17:00.

Split between twelve guests, four hours on the Catamaran X works out at about €61 each — close to what one seat on a shared group tour costs, except the whole boat is yours. For fixed-price days — the golden-hour run on the VanDutch 32 from €1,500, or the 12-guest Elaphiti islands day on the Fairline Phantom 40 from €1,200 — see the set tours above.

Who a private charter suits

Per-boat pricing favours groups: families, friends splitting the cost, or a couple who simply want the deck to themselves. The itinerary is a starting point, not a script — tell your skipper what you want, whether that is more swim stops, a particular beach or a lunch reservation, and the day is built around it: a slow pass beneath the medieval walls and Fort Lovrijenac, the sea caves at Koločep, or a long lunch on Šipan.

Booking is straightforward: pay by card, and cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund. If the harbour master closes the sea for weather, you rebook free of charge or get your money back. We sail daily from April to October, and the sea is warmest from June to September. July and August dates sell out first, full days especially — check availability and book online for instant confirmation, and Sarah, our charter coordinator, follows up personally with meeting details.

How much does a private yacht charter in Dubrovnik cost?

Half-day (4-hour) charters run from €730 per boat on the 12-guest Catamaran X to €1,900 on the Bond 007. Every price includes a licensed skipper, full insurance and safety equipment.

Is a skipper included?

Yes. Every charter is skippered by a licensed local captain — we do not offer bareboat hire. You relax; the skipper handles the boat, the route and the moorings.

Where do charters depart from?

Marina Frapa, Lapadska obala 21a on Gruž bay — around 10 minutes by taxi from the Old Town. Your skipper meets you on the quay.

What happens if the weather turns?

If conditions are unsafe, we move your charter to another day or refund you in full. Summer cancellations are rare, and your skipper makes the call early.

Private yacht charter prices for 2026, per boat

Private skippered charters from Gruž Harbour cost €730 to €2,550 per boat in 2026 — from four hours on the 12-guest Catamaran X to a full day aboard the Malavi 55. Every price covers the whole group and includes skipper, insurance and safety equipment; fuel is charged separately by usage, and cancellation is free up to 24 hours.

Every price below is per boat, never per person. Charters depart from Gruž Harbour, ten minutes from Dubrovnik's old town, and one rate covers your whole group — licensed skipper, full insurance and safety equipment included. There are no seasonal surcharges and no platform markup; fuel is charged separately, based on actual usage, so you only pay for the miles you actually cruise.

All eight day boats can be booked online with instant confirmation. Multi-day voyages are quote-only — send your dates through the inquiry form and Sarah will reply with a proposal. Every boat, from the twelve-guest Catamaran X to the Malavi 55 flagship, runs the classic routes: a swim off Lokrum, a slow lunch run to Cavtat, or any itinerary in the tours section.

What every price includes

  • Licensed local skipper — Croatian Maritime Licence
  • Full insurance — passenger and third-party liability cover
  • Full safety equipment and a pre-departure safety briefing
  • Bluetooth sound system

Fuel is the one running cost on top, charged separately based on usage. Beyond that, the only extras are optional: entry fees for protected areas — the Lokrum reserve fee and Mljet National Park tickets on longer routes — plus restaurant meals ashore and premium drinks.

Payment and cancellation

Charters are paid in full at booking, by card through Stripe — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure, refunded to the same card, and every booking carries a 100% deposit refund guarantee. If the harbour master closes the sea for weather, you choose between free rebooking and a full refund — the decision is made early, not on the quay. Croatia uses the euro, so the price you see is exactly what your card is charged — no conversion games.

The per-person maths

Because prices are per boat, the cost per head falls with every guest you add. Twelve aboard the Catamaran X works out at about €61 each for four private hours; eight on the Galeon 330 Fly, about €119; a full-day Fairline Phantom 40 with twelve aboard is €100 a head; the Malavi 55, about €213. Even a couple taking the Catamaran X to themselves pays €365 each, and a family of six about €122 a head. That is the quiet advantage of a private yacht rental over shared island tours: your group pays once instead of per seat, the timetable is yours, and the skipper skips any Elaphiti bay that looks crowded.

Good to know: July and August full days sell first — book those two to four weeks ahead; spring and autumn dates usually have availability within the week. Daily departures run April to October, with November to March by appointment.

How much does it cost to rent a yacht in Dubrovnik?

From €730 for 4 hours aboard the 12-guest Catamaran X to €2,550 for a full day on the Malavi 55 flagship, per boat. Multi-day custom voyages start at €2,550 per day.

Are prices per person or per boat?

Per boat. From €730 for 4 hours, the Catamaran X covers your whole group of up to 12 people — split twelve ways, that's about €61 each for four private hours at sea.

What do the prices include?

A licensed skipper, full insurance, safety equipment, a pre-departure safety briefing and a Bluetooth sound system. National-park entry fees and restaurant meals are extra.

When and how do I pay?

In full at booking, by card via Stripe — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before departure.

Private sunset cruise from Gruž

A private sunset cruise from Gruž Harbour, Dubrovnik is a 4-hour evening charter from €730 per boat on the 12-guest Catamaran X, or from €1,500 on the eight-guest VanDutch 32. Departures move with the sun — around 17:30 in June and July, 17:00 in August, 16:00 by mid-September — and skipper, insurance and safety equipment are included.

This is the charter couples book most: a private 4-hour evening sail from Gruž Harbour, timed so the sun sets over open water in front of you — with nobody else on deck. The 12-guest Catamaran X starts at €730 per boat; the VanDutch 32, the signature sunset boat, is from €1,500 with a maximum of eight guests to keep the deck quiet. Champagne is available on request — tell Sarah when you book and it is on ice before you board, or bring your own bottle; there is no corkage.

The golden-hour route

The route is built backwards from the sunset. First the medieval city walls: from the water you see what the crowds on Stradun cannot — Fort Lovrijenac on its 37-metre cliff, the old port behind its breakwater, the roofline glowing as the sun drops. Then a slow pass along Lokrum, the wooded island reserve ten minutes off the city, where the light filters through the pines. Finally, open water: the skipper positions the boat so the sun sets over the sea in front of you, not behind a headland, and holds the yacht steady — engines barely ticking over — for as long as the light deserves.

Your evening, minute by minute

A high-summer departure at 17:30 runs like this — earlier in the season, or in September, the same sequence simply starts earlier.

  • 17:30 — Board at Gruž Harbour; welcome and a safety briefing
  • 17:50 — Slow cruise beneath the Old Town walls and Fort Lovrijenac
  • 18:30 — Swim stop in a sheltered cove while the light softens
  • 19:15 — Lokrum's western shore; champagne opened if you've ordered it
  • 19:45 — Bow to the open Adriatic for the last stretch of golden hour
  • 20:15 — Sunset — engines idle, cameras out
  • 21:30 — Back alongside at Gruž in the afterglow

Departure moves with the sun

Typical mid-month sunsets: June 20:25 (departure 17:30), July 20:20 (17:30), August 19:50 (17:00), September 19:00 (16:00). June and July give the longest, slowest golden hour; late August and September trade a little daylight for softer air and emptier water. May and October evenings can be lovely too, but pack a jumper.

Sunset charter prices, per boat

Three yachts run the signature sunset departure; any boat in the fleet can take the golden-hour route at its base rate.

Per-person maths for the full fleet are in the price list.

Good to know

  • Celebrating something? Proposals happen aboard more often than you'd think — tell Sarah when you book and the skipper will find a quiet stretch of water at exactly the right moment.
  • Sea state: evenings on this coast are usually the calmest part of the day — the afternoon maestral wind dies at dusk. If conditions are unsafe, you rebook or receive a full refund.
  • What to wear: whatever you like; deck shoes are not required. A light layer helps after sundown, even in July.
  • Meeting point: Marina Frapa, Lapadska obala 21a on Gruž bay — 10 minutes by taxi from the Old Town.

Summer evenings sell out fastest of all our departures — there is only one sunset per boat per day. Book your evening online with instant confirmation and free cancellation up to 24 hours before you sail.

How much does a sunset cruise in Dubrovnik cost?

From €730 per boat for a 4-hour golden-hour charter on the 12-guest Catamaran X; the VanDutch 32, our signature sunset yacht, is from €1,500. Skipper, insurance and safety equipment are included; champagne is available on request.

What time does the cruise depart?

Departure moves with the sun — typically 17:30 in June and July, 17:00 in August and around 16:00 by mid-September for a 4-hour run. We confirm the exact time when you book.

What route does the cruise follow?

From Gruž around the Old Town walls, past Lokrum island, then out to open water for the sunset itself before an easy cruise home in the last light.

When is the best month for a sunset cruise?

June to September. June and July give the longest golden hour; September sunsets come earlier but throw the warmest light on the limestone walls.

Elaphiti Islands day charter: Koločep, Lopud and Šipan

A private, skippered full-day charter from Gruž Harbour visits Koločep, Lopud and Šipan — the three inhabited Elaphiti islands — from €1,200 per boat for up to 12 guests on the Fairline Phantom 40. The day runs 09:00 to 17:00 with blue-cave snorkelling, a long swim at sandy Šunj beach and a konoba lunch on Šipan.

The Elaphiti are a car-free archipelago strung northwest of Dubrovnik's old town: pine forests, sea caves, one genuinely sandy beach and harbour villages that empty out by dusk. A private, skippered full-day charter visits all three inhabited islands — Koločep, Lopud and Šipan — from €1,200 per boat for up to 12 guests aboard the Fairline Phantom 40, with licensed skipper, insurance and safety equipment included. Ferries connect the islands, but slowly and on a fixed clock; a private boat does in one unhurried day what island-hopping by ferry takes two to do, and it anchors in the coves the ferries pass by.

Three islands, one day

Koločep comes first, twenty minutes out. Its southern cliffs hide the blue cave: you slip off the swim platform and snorkel in while the yacht waits outside, the water lit electric blue by late-morning sun — brightest between roughly 10:00 and 13:00, which is why the 09:00 start earns its keep. Lopud is the middle island, a curved harbour front of palms and stone monasteries; on its far side lies Šunj, a rare sandy crescent whose shallows stay waist-deep for fifty metres. Most beaches on this coast are pebble, so small children get an easy day here — anchor in the bay and swim the last stretch, or use Lopud's harbour to stay dry. Šipan, the largest and quietest, is for lunch: a family konoba table by the water in Šipanska Luka or Suđurađ. Your skipper books ahead, the bill is yours, and the menu runs to fresh fish, grilled meat and local wine at island prices.

The full-day route

  • 09:00 — board at Gruž Harbour; briefing and cast-off
  • 09:50 — blue cave at Koločep: snorkel in, or hold at the mouth for photos
  • 11:00 — anchor in Šunj bay off Lopud for a long swim stop
  • 13:00 — tie up on Šipan for a long konoba lunch
  • 15:00 — cruise Šipan's olive-terraced coastline; final swim in a chosen cove
  • 17:00 — alongside at Gruž

The order is the skipper's suggestion, not a rule: an afternoon maestral might flip it, and a group in love with Šunj can stay longer and trade away the last stop.

The proven Elaphiti day boat is the Fairline Phantom 40, a 13-metre motor yacht with two cabins — a full boat works out at €100 per person for a private, all-day island route. The Malavi 55 flagship, from €2,550 for 8 hours, does the same day with 17 metres of yacht under you. Short on time? A 4-hour half-day on the Catamaran X, from €730, reaches Koločep — or Lopud on a calm day — and back; the per-person maths live at per-boat prices. Every charter includes the licensed skipper, insurance, safety equipment and a Bluetooth sound system; fuel is charged separately based on usage. There are no landing fees on the Elaphiti — unlike Lokrum, the islands are free to visit.

Bring swimwear, towels, sunscreen, and cash or card for lunch. The channels are sheltered by the islands themselves, so the run is calm on most summer days; if the harbour master closes the sea, you rebook or take a full refund. Twelve seats, one boat, one day — August Saturdays go weeks in advance, so check your date and book online: confirmation is instant and cancellation free up to 24 hours before departure.

How much does an Elaphiti islands boat tour cost?

From €1,200 per boat on the Fairline Phantom 40 — our proven Elaphiti day boat, carrying up to 12 guests, €100 each with a full boat — up to €2,550 on the Malavi 55 flagship. Skipper, insurance and safety equipment are included.

Which islands does the tour visit?

Koločep, Lopud and Šipan — the three inhabited Elaphiti islands. The order flexes with the wind and with how long you want to linger at each stop.

Is lunch included?

Lunch is a table at a family konoba on Šipan — your skipper books ahead, and the bill is yours. Expect fresh fish, grilled meat and local wine at island prices.

How do we get onto Šunj beach?

The yacht anchors in the bay and you swim the last stretch — the water is sandy-bottomed and shallow. Prefer to stay dry? Lopud's harbour works too.

Is the tour suitable for children?

Yes. The channels between the islands are sheltered, Šunj is shallow and sandy, and child-size life jackets are aboard. Children count toward the 12-guest limit.

Luxury yacht charter in Dubrovnik: flagship days and multi-day voyages

The Malavi 55, a 17-metre flagship carrying up to 12 guests, charters from €2,550 for an 8-hour day out of Gruž Harbour. Multi-day custom voyages to Mljet, Korčula and Hvar start at €2,550 per day, quote-only, while luxury 4-hour days begin at €1,500 on the VanDutch 32 — skipper and insurance always included.

When the plan is bigger than a single day, the answer is the Malavi 55, a 17-metre flagship based at Gruž Harbour, from €2,550 for an 8-hour day and from €2,550 per day on custom multi-day voyages. She carries up to 12 guests: two cabins and a saloon below, shaded aft deck and bow sunpads above, and a swim platform that makes every anchorage a beach. Captain Marko, our lead skipper with twenty-plus years on this water, takes most flagship voyages. Multi-day charters are quote-only: tell us dates, guests and appetite, and you get a route, a price and a named skipper back.

Three more boats at the same standard

Not every luxury day needs 17 metres. The VanDutch 32 is the minimalist's pick: a 10-metre sport yacht with clean lines and 30 knots — eight guests, from €1,500 for 4 hours. The Jeanneau Prestige 440 Fly adds a flybridge and two cabins for unhurried family days — ten guests, from €1,600 for 4 hours. The Bond 007, with three cabins and 35 knots on tap, is the one for a celebration that needs headroom and speed in equal measure — twelve guests, from €1,900 for 4 hours.

Multi-day routes: Mljet, Korčula and back

The signature three-day route runs west. Day one crosses to Mljet, with a swim stop in the Elaphiti channel and the afternoon inside Mljet National Park — two saltwater lakes ringed by forest, mooring at Polače for the evening. Day two continues to Korčula town for its Venetian streets and a long dinner; day three ambles home along the Pelješac coast with a lunch stop in a bay your skipper refuses to name in writing. Two- to five-day versions follow the same bones; Hvar joins the longer voyages.

A typical first day: depart Gruž at 09:00, swim in the Šipan channel at 10:30, konoba lunch in Šipanska Luka at 12:30, the Mljet crossing from 15:00, moored at Polače by 16:30, dinner ashore at 19:30.

Concierge extras

  • Private chef. Collected with provisions at Gruž — lunch is cooked aboard at anchor instead of ashore.
  • Restaurant bookings. Tables in Korčula, on Šipan or at Polače, reserved under your name before you cast off.
  • Occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries, proposals — flowers, a specific bottle, a particular cove at a particular hour.

Each is priced into your quote and confirmed before you pay anything.

Questions

Yacht rental in Dubrovnik, answered

How much does it cost to rent a yacht in Dubrovnik?

Charters run from €730 for four hours on Catamaran X to €2,550 for a full eight-hour day on the 55-foot Malavi flagship. Prices are per boat — not per person — and always include a licensed skipper, insurance and safety equipment. The full 2026 price list breaks down every option.

What's included in the price?

Every charter includes a licensed skipper, full insurance, safety equipment, a pre-departure briefing and a Bluetooth sound system — with no platform markup or hidden fees. Not included: fuel (charged based on usage), national-park entry fees (Mljet, Lokrum reserve fee), restaurant meals and premium drinks. See what every charter includes for the detail.

Do I need a boat licence?

No. Every charter comes with a licensed local skipper, so you need no licence, no experience and no paperwork. You choose the route and the pace; the skipper handles the boat, the moorings and the weather calls. If you would rather helm yourself, we do not offer bareboat — skippered only.

When is the best time to book a charter?

June to September brings the warmest sea — typically 22–26 °C — and the most reliable sunshine. May and October are quieter on the water, with better boat availability. Our season runs April to October; our month-by-month guide covers the trade-offs.

Where do charters depart from?

All departures are from Marina Frapa, Lapadska obala 21a, 20000 Dubrovnik — on the Lapad shore of Gruž bay, about 10 minutes by taxi from the Old Town. Your skipper meets you on the quay 15 minutes before departure. Directions and a map are in the section below.

What happens if the weather turns?

If the forecast makes your day unsafe or unpleasant, we contact you first and offer a free rebooking or a full refund — your choice. You can also cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before departure, with a 100% deposit refund guarantee. The cancellation policy spells it all out.

How many people fit on board?

Up to 12 guests on Catamaran X, the Fairline Phantom 40, Bond 007 and the Malavi 55 flagship; 7–10 on the rest of the fleet. For groups larger than 12 we can run two boats side by side — send an inquiry and Sarah will put the day together.

Can we swim and snorkel during the charter?

Yes — swim stops are the heart of any half-day or longer charter. Snorkelling gear and a paddleboard are on board at no extra cost, and your skipper picks the calmest coves for the day's wind. Our guide to secret swim spots and coves shows what to expect.

Is Yacht Rental Dubrovnik a legitimate company?

Yes — Yacht Rental Dubrovnik is the trading name of Technic one d.o.o. (VAT HR63056167991), founded in 2008 and registered at Vinogradarska 10, 20236 Nova Mokošica, with seventeen seasons on the Adriatic. Every skipper holds the Croatian boat-master licence (Voditelj brodice, category B) issued by the Ministry of the Sea, and we publish verified guest feedback only — never borrowed or invented reviews.
