Catamaran X is the only twin-hull in the Garitransfer fleet — a 10-metre skippered catamaran, built in 2017, that trades pace for stability and sheer deck space. Up to 12 guests spread out across the bow platform and the shaded lounge aft without anyone negotiating for a cushion, which is exactly why we send her out with families, multi-generation groups and photographers. Half-day charters run from €730 per boat — licensed skipper, fuel and insurance included — with a full-day option when four hours will not be enough.
Her shallow draft is the quiet advantage. Where a keelboat has to anchor well offshore, Catamaran X noses right up to the rocks, so swim stops happen in water calm and clear enough to count pebbles on the bottom. The natural circuit is the Elaphiti Islands — Koločep, Lopud and Šipan — a scatter of pine-covered islands northwest of the old town whose sandy bays and hidden coves were made for a boat like this. Your skipper knows which cove is empty at which hour.
Do not book her for speed. The 60 hp engine tops out at 10 knots by design: this is a platform for slow island-hopping, long swims and lunch ashore, not fast transits. She departs Gruž Harbour on the Dubrovnik waterfront, minutes from the cruise terminal, morning or afternoon, from April through October.
